Overview
Tested settings for the London session on GBPUSD
London Edge Presets is a collection of six .set files for MetaTrader 4 that configure Helix Algo Studio's two London-session Expert Advisors, Shadow GBPUSD and Phoenix Session EA, for specific broker conditions on GBPUSD. Presets do not change how an EA works; they set its inputs. The value of this pack is the testing behind each file and the plain-language notes that explain which preset to load for your account type and spread, so you do not have to spend evenings in the strategy tester before your first trade.
What is in the pack
For Shadow GBPUSD there are three presets. ECN Tight assumes a London-open spread under 1.2 pips and uses the narrowest breakout buffer; Standard covers spreads up to 2 pips with a wider buffer and a slightly later cancel time; Cent Account mirrors Standard but with fixed micro-lot sizing suited to cent-denominated balances. For Phoenix Session EA there are three matching presets that enable only the London session, adjust the volatility skip threshold for GBPUSD's larger range and set the daily stop conservatively. All six were exported from the current EA versions and are named with the version they target.
How they were tested
Each preset was run in the MT4 strategy tester on imported GBPUSD tick data from January 2022 to December 2025 using the fixed spread stated in its notes, then forward-checked on a demo account through the first half of 2026. The pack's PDF shows the tester summary for every preset side by side, including maximum drawdown and the longest losing run, so you can compare them honestly rather than picking the one with the highest number. Those tester summaries are sample data and are not projections.
Loading a preset
Presets load from the EA's Inputs tab with the Load button. Because MetaTrader silently ignores inputs it does not recognise, each preset states the exact EA version it was exported from, and the PDF lists which inputs were added or renamed between versions. Loading a preset into an older EA build will not break anything, but new inputs will keep their defaults, which is why the pack is refreshed whenever the EAs change.
Keeping presets current
Broker conditions drift. When average London-open spreads or GBPUSD volatility change enough to move a preset outside the range it was tested for, Helix publishes a revised pack as a free update. The changelog records what moved and why, so you can decide whether to reload. Updates are included for the lifetime of the pack.
What this pack is not
London Edge does not include the Expert Advisors themselves; you need a license for Shadow GBPUSD or Phoenix Session EA, both sold separately on this marketplace and both included with membership. It is not a set of optimised-to-the-past curve fits; the inputs were chosen for robustness across the whole test period and deliberately left slightly wider than the best single-year result. And it is not a promise of profit: the same EA with the same preset will behave differently at different brokers, which is the reason the pack exists.

Questions
Do I need to buy the EAs separately?
Yes. The pack contains only .set files and a PDF. Shadow GBPUSD and Phoenix Session EA are sold separately and are also included with membership.
Can I use these presets on EURUSD?
They will load, but every value was tuned and tested for GBPUSD's range and spread. Helix has not published EURUSD results for these files and recommends the EAs' own default presets there.
What happens when the EA is updated?
Helix re-exports the pack and publishes a new version as a free update. The changelog states which presets changed, and the PDF's input table shows what a newer EA build will default when an older preset is loaded.
Support
Helix Algo Studio supports the pack through marketplace tickets, typically within two business days. Please state the EA version you are running and which preset you loaded; mismatched versions are the most common cause of unexpected input values.
Risk
Trading carries risk
Presets configure trading software that places real orders on your account; the risk of loss from leveraged GBPUSD trading is not reduced by using a tested preset. Tester summaries in the pack are sample data derived from historical data with fixed spreads and do not represent future results at your broker. Always verify a preset on a demo account before live use.
Trading foreign exchange, metals, indices and other leveraged products carries a high level of risk and may not be suitable for all investors. Past performance, backtests and demo results do not guarantee future results. Automated trading software can lose money quickly, especially with leverage. Only trade with capital you can afford to lose, test every tool on a demo account first, and seek independent financial advice if you are unsure. Nothing on this website is investment advice.
