Grid

Grid tools place or manage a ladder of pending and open orders at fixed price intervals. Used carefully they can average into a position at planned levels; used carelessly they can accumulate exposure quickly in a one-way market. The grid utilities in this category are managers rather than autonomous strategies: they cap the number of levels, enforce a maximum basket size, close the whole basket at a target or stop and refuse to add levels beyond a configured limit. Read each product's risk notes closely and test on a demo account until you understand how the basket behaves during a strong trend.
